Every year, India Art Fair becomes a converging point not only for those who love art, but also the curious, the questioning, the world-weary. In many ways, art provides answers to questions you may not even know you had; answers that unlock a part of you you may not have previously had access to. Too much art though? That can feel overwhelming too. With India Art Fair spread across a 20,000 square metre venue—and with a record 120 exhibitors, including 26 first-time participants this year—navigating the space can feel tiring, especially for first-timers. To make your experience at India Art Fair a fruitful one, we asked fair director Jaya Asokan to recommend nine shows that you should definitely stop by:

US-based artist Huma Bhabha has become an international superstar artist for her large sculptures that can be imaged as alien emissaries from another planet. After being shown on iconic venues such as The Met rooftop and the Brooklyn Bridge Park and before a major show at the Barbican in London, two of her new works come to the India Art Fair tents, presented by David Zwirner. The top international gallery will also be showing works by contemporary artists such as Oscar Murillo, Dan Flavin and Yayoi Kusama that Indian audiences rarely have the chance to experience in person.
