Did you really just think you'd ascended to heaven? In fact, you're just getting out of the elevator, and up here, on the upper floor of the FONDATION LOUIS VUITTON, there's no one sitting at the right hand of God, just a museum attendant next to a work of art. In the high, apsidal-vaulted room, there's no winged altarpiece, but rather a nearly 17-meter-wide mural, across whose entire curved width angelic beings welcome visitors with outstretched arms. And even if it's only a few floors traveled in the elevator: the fact that up here you actually feel somehow closer to the cloud-covered Parisian sky on this autumn day, and welcomed by beings sent by God, is part of the artist's intention.
