Victor Man, Sigmar Polke, and Wolfgang Tillmans are among roughly twenty modern and contemporary artists from the Pinault Collection included in Clair-obscur.
The exhibition explores the legacy of chiaroscuro, moving from darkness to light and resonating with the present day. The museum is transformed into a landscape that is both luminous and crepuscular, immersing visitors in a reflection on the visible and invisible, where the materiality of light and the shadows of the unconscious are expressed.
Clair-obscur is curated by Emma Lavigne, general director and curator, Pinault Collection.
