This deluxe Dana Schutz set, available in a limited edition of 50, features a new drypoint etching by the artist along with an illustrated monograph from David Zwirner Books.
The artist's new etching, The Love (2025), relates to her painting from 2023 which bears the same title. The scene is intimate, with two figures seeming to dissolve into one another as they embrace. The large figure is atmospheric and malleable, like the drifting clouds behind her. In her palm, she cradles the smaller figure who reaches toward her in a gesture of longing.
The accompanying monograph, published on the occasion of Dana Schutz’s 2023 exhibition at David Zwirner New York, is the artist’s most recent publication and her first with David Zwirner Books. Featuring a long-form essay by Jarrett Earnest and intimate studio photography by Jason Schmidt, the book offers a fascinating reflection on Schutz’s practice, conceptual inquiries, and thematic explorations.
The print and book are presented together in a bespoke clamshell box, which is fully lined in vivid orange cloth with custom maroon foil stamping. The print is housed in a matching cloth-covered and paper-lined folder with a maroon ribbon for closure.
