There is probably no other photographer whose work is as multifaceted as that of Wolfgang Tillmans. There are his early images from the club scene of the 1990s. There are intimate photographs of his friends, which he published in magazines such as "iD" and "Purple," and with which he shaped the concept of aesthetics for an entire generation. In between, he repeatedly experimented with abstraction in works such as "Freischwimmer" and "Paper Drop." He published videos and music , was co-editor of the German music magazine "Spex," and portrayed musicians such as Morrissey, Aphex Twin, and Frank Ocean —who immortalized Tillmans' song "Device Control" on his visual album "Endless."
